Provenance and paperwork.
Legally excavated
Every specimen was recovered under permit in the Perm region and the Tyumen region of Russia and left the country with an export licence. Copies travel with the specimen.
Condition report
Each bone is listed: original, restored or replica. Replicas are used only where a part never fossilises — rhinoceros horns, for example — and are always declared.
Delivery and installation
Mounts are taken down, crated and shipped worldwide. Our preparators can reassemble the skeleton on site.

How a skeleton gets here.
Found
Cave bears, lions and wolves come from limestone caves of the Perm region in the Urals. Mammoths, rhinoceros and elk come from river gravels of the Irtysh in the Tyumen region, where the bank collapses each spring and releases what the permafrost held.
Prepared
Every bone is cleaned, stabilised and mounted in the Laboratory in Saint Petersburg, founded in 1991. Missing elements are noted, never disguised. The mount can be taken down and shipped in crates.
Documented
Measurements, photographs, a condition report and the export permit accompany each specimen. What you read on the plaque is what you receive on paper.
Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase

The collection travels to Tucson, Arizona. Private viewings by appointment before the show opens each morning. Booth number and hall to be announced in December.
